This post leans to the more personal side of things but I also wanted to show the application of what happened as to what a church is supposed to be. Yesterday, some friends of my wife and I, that we met through Titus Ministries, hosted a baby shower for my wife. Several friends (and their families) that we've met in just the past few months showed up to shower my wife with generous gifts, food, and most importantly with love and prayers as we get ready to have our 2nd child. Through this ministry and from the California resistance against the mask and shutdown tyranny and horrible overreach of our government, we have met some amazing people. And that must be recognized as a silver lining in all this mess that government has put us through recently: Great new friends.
On the way home from the baby shower my wife and I were just in awe of the love shown to us. She said words to the effect of, "I don't even know how to show proper appreciation for all of that. That was amazing." The Spirit of God was unquestionably with us yesterday.
That is church.
Jesus Christ said, "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother." The church, εκκλησια, is an assembly and it is family.
What appeal does the "standard" church hold anymore?
We will continue to meet, however we can, no matter what persecution the church may face. And shame on the countless pastors who, in cowardice, kowtowed to the anti-Christian government demands to silence the followers of Christ.
Thank you all so much for your love.
